The Information Technology (IT) project manager role is the professional figure that, alongside the client, will help the business achieve their IT goals by planning and executing projects.
Some of the activities could be the deployment of a new software solution, scale IT processes or switch infrastructure from on premises to cloud providers.
Responsibilities
By bringing new IT processes of an organization to fruition, the IT project manager tasks and responsibilities might include:
- Lead multiple IT projects from initiation to completion
- Develop and manage project’s budgets
- Communicate with the stakeholders, including IT managers, vendors and executive leaders
- Manage the risk associated to the project and mitigation efforts
- Gather, analyze and report IT metrics
